Unite with me in the cancer fight and support my fundraising efforts

Many of you know that I love to ride my bicycle. In fact, many of you think I am crazy for riding so much! What many of you don't know, is why I ride.

When I was 12, I lost my mother to a lung related disease. When I was 20, I lost my grandmother to lung cancer that came about as a result of the same lung related disease. When I was 30, I was diagnosed with the same lung related disease -- Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.

There are two ways to combat Alpha-1. One is replacement therapy. I am currently undergoing that process. The second is to increase my current lung capacity as much as I can with vigorous exercise. Now you know why I ride so passionately.

The best way to stamp out Alpha-1 and other lung cancer related diseases is with more research dollars. The Lance Armstrong Foundation unites people to fight cancer, believing that unity is strength, knowledge is power, and attitude is everything.
